Terms of Use and Disclaimer
Version 1.0 · Last revised: November 4, 2026
Plain English Summary
Dispute notice: Section 15 includes binding arbitration, a jury-trial waiver, and a 30-day opt-out. Mandatory consumer rights and court exceptions remain protected. Privacy choices are separate from agreeing to these Terms.
- ✓WordCombi is a free tool for entertainment and assistance — not an official authority on valid words.
- ✓Results come from a curated, filtered dictionary and may not include every possible word. Always verify in a tournament setting.
- ✓Use of this site is completely voluntary — if you do not want to use this website, simply do not use it. By using it, you agree to these terms.
- ✓This is a general-audience site. Content filtering is best-effort and is not a guarantee that every result is suitable for every reader. Connection and session identifiers can be personal information. Adults who allow children to use the site should supervise that use; see our Privacy Policy.
- ✓We are not responsible for losses in games, competitions, or any other outcome from using this tool.
- ✓When advertising is enabled, ads are served by Google AdSense automatically — we do not personally endorse them.
- ✓We do not currently earn affiliate commissions. If affiliate links are added, they will be clearly labeled before you click.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using WordCombi ("the Site"), a website operated by Archangel LLC, an Iowa limited liability company formed on September 28, 2026 (the "Company"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. Use of this Site is entirely voluntary. If you do not want to use this website, simply do not use it — no one is required, compelled, or encouraged to use it. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use this Site. Because use is voluntary, any use of the Site constitutes your assumption of all risks and responsibilities described in these Terms.
2. No Warranty on Results
WordCombi provides word results generated from a curated, family-friendly dictionary for entertainment and general assistance purposes only. Results are not guaranteed to be complete, accurate, or suitable for use in any competitive game, tournament, academic, or professional setting. The Site makes no representation that all valid English words will be returned for any given input, and results should always be verified against an official tournament dictionary when stakes are involved.
3. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, WordCombi, its owner, and operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of this Site or reliance on any content generated herein, including but not limited to losses in competitive games, tournaments, academic evaluations, or any other events.
In no event shall the total aggregate liability of WordCombi, its owner, or operators for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Site exceed the greater of (a) one United States dollar ($1.00) or (b) the total amount you paid to the Site owner for use of the Site in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. Because the Site is provided free of charge, this cap reflects the nature of the service.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, any dispute must be brought by you individually, and you waive the right to participate in any class, collective, or representative action or proceeding. You and the Site owner agree that each may bring claims against the other only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, or representative action.
What this section does not do. Nothing in this section excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including liability for fraud or intentional misconduct, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for any right you hold under a consumer-protection law that does not permit waiver. If any part of this section is held unenforceable as to you, that part is limited to the minimum extent the law allows and every other provision remains in force. See also Section 23 (Your Mandatory Consumer Rights).
4. Advertising and Affiliate Disclosure
When advertising is enabled, this Site displays advertisements provided by Google AdSense, our only advertising network. These ads are served automatically based on site content. The display of these ads does not constitute an endorsement by WordCombi of any advertised product, service, or company.
Google AdSense and Google Analytics tags are not enabled in this version of the site. Our cookie banner currently controls our own optional usage statistics; accepting it does not activate advertising, authorize personalized ads, or provide parental consent. Before any advertising is introduced, its data practices, child-directed treatment, non-personalized delivery, and regional consent requirements must be assessed and implemented. We do not use browser time zones as proof of a visitor's country. A Google-certified consent platform is required where Google's policies require it; our custom banner is not a certified platform.
WordCombi does not currently use affiliate links, and no commission is earned from any link on this site today. If affiliate links are added, they will be labeled before you click, and we may earn a commission without changing the price you pay. Participation is subject to the relevant program's approval, and this disclosure is not a claim of enrollment or approval. Following an external link takes you to another site, where its own terms and privacy practices apply. We do not embed advertising pixels. Paid or affiliate relationships must be clearly disclosed near the relevant link or recommendation; this paragraph is not a certification of regulatory compliance.
5. No Professional Advice
Nothing on this Site constitutes legal, medical, financial, educational, or professional advice of any kind. All content is provided for general informational and entertainment purposes only.
6. Intellectual Property
The operator retains its rights in its own branding, code, and content. Third-party software, dictionaries, definitions, fonts, and other materials remain subject to their owners' rights and applicable licenses. We do not claim ownership of individual words or third-party definitions. No proprietary tournament word list is intentionally configured in the tools. This is not a representation that every upstream dataset is public domain. Source and license notices are provided at /legal#credits. Subject to these Terms and applicable third-party licenses, you may use the tools for lawful personal or internal business purposes; this does not grant rights to redistribute third-party material.
7. Privacy and Cookies
Word searches and text counts are calculated in your browser. Recent searches, saved words, display preferences, and dictionary or definition caches can remain on your device. Opening a word definition sends that selected word and normal connection data to Datamuse, or to Free Dictionary API as a fallback. Optional usage statistics are sent to our hosting platform only after consent; a random session identifier is pseudonymous, not a guarantee of anonymity.
Browser local storage holds your consent choice, theme, recent searches, and saved words. Session storage holds your Terms acknowledgement and, only with analytics consent, a random analytics session ID. IndexedDB caches dictionary, pronunciation, and definition data. These functional preferences and caches are separate from tracking. Remove individual saved items with the tool controls, or clear this site's browser data to remove all local copies. Hosting authentication may use essential storage if you sign in.
The Privacy Policy controls the description of our data practices. Acceptance of these Terms is not consent to optional tracking, targeted advertising, or children's data processing.
8. Content Policy (Best-Effort Filtering)
We apply automated filters to word results and definition text to reduce profanity, slurs, and explicit material. Filters can miss unwanted content or block legitimate terms. Some medical and scientific terms may appear. This is a best-effort content policy, not a promise of perfect safety.
WordCombi is a general-audience service that is not directed to children, and we do not ask for or knowingly collect personal information from children. Content filtering is best-effort and is not a safety guarantee. Adults who allow a child to use the site should supervise that use, including external links and definition lookups. Network identifiers, session identifiers, and information received by service providers can be personal information even without an account. A cookie-banner click is not verifiable parental consent. We do not treat the absence of registration, a general-audience label, or an advertising flag as proof of a COPPA exemption. Any future advertising or material change to children's data processing requires a separate assessment before activation. Parents may contact us to ask about, correct, restrict, or request deletion of a child's information. We promptly investigate and remove information collected contrary to applicable law, subject to any legally required preservation.
Our retention limit for ordinary support correspondence and pseudonymous usage records is 24 months, unless a shorter period is appropriate. The owner must review and delete active copies, including both CRM records and mailbox copies; a CRM warning is not automatic deletion. Records needed for a legal obligation or to establish, exercise, or defend a legal claim may be kept only as long as that purpose requires and reviewed when the matter closes. A minimal suppression record is kept as needed to honor an email opt-out. Provider-controlled logs and backup copies follow the provider's own retention and deletion arrangements; we cannot promise instant erasure from all backups. You may request earlier deletion, subject to applicable exceptions.
9. Changes to Terms
This is version 1.0 of these documents, last revised November 4, 2026, for the initial release. Changes do not retroactively alter rights under an earlier version. After launch, material changes to the Terms or data practices will be announced on the site at least 14 days before taking effect. Where fresh consent is required, continued use alone is not consent. Changes required sooner by law will be explained with as much notice as legally possible.
10. Governing Law; Dispute Resolution
These Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Iowa, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Except for claims that may be brought in small-claims court or for injunctive relief as described in Section 15 (Arbitration and Dispute Resolution), any dispute arising under these Terms shall be resolved by binding arbitration as provided in Section 15, and not by litigation in court. Where arbitration does not apply, is opted out of, or cannot proceed, disputes may be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction in Iowa, subject to any mandatory right to a different venue or a consumer's local courts. Courts may also hear the exceptions in Section 15.
11. Assumption of Risk and No Reliance
You use this Site voluntarily and at your own risk. You acknowledge that word results are generated from a curated dictionary for entertainment and general assistance, are not professional advice, and may be incomplete or contain errors. You agree not to rely on the Site for any decision with legal, financial, medical, academic, or competitive consequences. You are solely responsible for verifying any result before relying on it.
12. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by mandatory law, an adult user is responsible for reasonable losses and third-party claims directly caused by that user's unlawful conduct, intentional misuse of the Site, or material breach of these Terms. This does not require a user to indemnify us for ordinary lawful use, our own negligence or misconduct, or a liability the law does not allow us to shift. We will give reasonable notice of a claim and may not impose a settlement obligation on a user without their agreement. Nothing here imposes a contractual indemnity on a child merely for visiting the Site.
13. Severability and Entire Agreement
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. These Terms, together with any policies referenced herein (including our Privacy/Cookie Policy and Content Policy), constitute the entire agreement between you and WordCombi regarding use of the Site, and supersede any prior or conflicting understandings.
14. No Claim of Completeness; No Responsibility for Game Outcomes
WordCombi does not claim to know every valid English word and makes no representation that its results are complete, definitive, or correct for any particular game, dictionary, tournament, or competition. Word results are generated from a curated dictionary for entertainment and general assistance only. WordCombi is not responsible for any outcome — including, without limitation, a lost game, a lost tournament, a lost competition, a missed play, or any other result — arising from the use of, reliance on, or inability to use this tool, or from any word that is or is not returned by the tool. You are solely responsible for verifying any result before relying on it, and you use this tool entirely at your own risk.
15. Arbitration and Dispute Resolution
Where legally enforceable, you and Archangel LLC agree to resolve covered disputes by individual binding arbitration under the American Arbitration Association's Consumer Arbitration Rules, before one arbitrator. This means a covered dispute is decided by an arbitrator rather than a judge or jury, subject to mandatory law and the exceptions below. The rules and current fee schedule are available at AAA consumer rules. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this arbitration agreement. This clause does not represent that it has already been registered with or approved by AAA.
Informal resolution. Either party may send the other a written description of the dispute and requested outcome, using the Contact page for notices to us. We will attempt informal resolution for 30 days. This is not a barrier to small-claims cases, urgent court relief available under law, regulatory complaints, or preserving a filing deadline.
Location, costs, and remedies. A consumer may participate remotely or at a reasonably convenient location under AAA's rules; Iowa attendance is not mandatory. Archangel LLC pays the business fees and arbitrator compensation required by those rules. Consumer fees, any waiver, and any cost allocation follow the applicable rules and mandatory law. The arbitrator may award all remedies available under applicable law. If AAA declines to administer or we fail to meet applicable fee or due-process requirements, the consumer may pursue the claim in a court of competent jurisdiction. Either party may bring an eligible individual small-claims case. Nothing limits non-waivable public injunctive relief or access to a regulator.
Opt-out. Within 30 days of first accepting these Terms, you may opt out by emailing info@wordcombi.com or writing to Archangel LLC, PO Box 1122, Fairfield, IA 52556, with a clear statement opting out and enough information to identify your notice. Opting out has no penalty or effect on using the tools. Where permitted by law, the class-action and jury-trial waivers associated with arbitration do not apply after a valid opt-out. Section 23 preserves mandatory rights; a minor's visit or local acknowledgement is not proof of an enforceable adult contract.
16. Age Requirement and User Conduct
The Site is a general-audience service intended for adults and is not directed to children. Anyone under 18 may use the Site only with the involvement and supervision of a parent or guardian, and use of the Site is in every case entirely voluntary. You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes and not to: (a) use the Site in any way that violates applicable law; (b) attempt to interfere with, compromise, or disrupt the Site's tools, dictionary, or infrastructure; (c) attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the Site; or (d) use automated scripts, bots, or other means to abuse or impose undue load on the Site. We may restrict access for a lawful reason, including abuse, security threats, or a material breach, subject to mandatory law and notice where required.
17. Disclaimer of Affiliation and Nominative Fair Use
References to third-party games, products, or services are made for descriptive identification only (nominative fair use). WordCombi is an independent word-utility website and is NOT affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or in any way officially connected with any game publisher, Google, or any other trademark owner. All third-party trademarks are the property of their respective owners. Nothing on this Site claims any such affiliation.
18. DMCA / Copyright Takedown Procedure
WordCombi respects the intellectual property rights of others. If you believe that any content on this Site infringes your copyright, you may submit a takedown request under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. §512. To be effective, your notice must include, in writing: (a) a physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf; (b) identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed (or, if multiple works, a representative list); (c) identification of the material on this Site that you claim is infringing, with enough detail for us to locate it (e.g., the URL); (d) your contact information, including your full name, address, telephone number, and email address; (e) a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and (f) a statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
Send DMCA notices to our designated copyright agent: Copyright Agent, WordCombi (Archangel LLC), PO Box 1122, Fairfield, IA 52556, or by email to info@wordcombi.com. The contact above receives copyright notices. An agent designation is distinct from copyright registration and does not itself establish eligibility for a DMCA safe harbor. We will review and respond to valid notices promptly, generally by removing or disabling access to the identified material. Under 17 U.S.C. §512(f), any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing may be subject to liability. Counter-notification procedures under 17 U.S.C. §512(g) are available; contact us for details. You can verify our agent designation in the U.S. Copyright Office's public directory at dmca.copyright.gov.
Counter-notification. If material of yours was removed and you believe it was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notification to the same agent. It must include: (a) your physical or electronic signature; (b) identification of the removed material and the location where it appeared before removal; (c) a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification; (d) your name, address, and telephone number; and (e) a statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if outside the United States, for any judicial district in which we may be found) and agreeing to accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice. We will forward a valid counter-notification to the original complainant and may restore the material after 10 to 14 business days unless the complainant notifies us of a court action.
Repeat infringers. Our policy is to restrict repeat infringers' access in appropriate circumstances, to the extent we can lawfully identify and restrict that access. The current tools do not publish visitor submissions. If a submission feature is introduced, a workable repeat-infringer process must be implemented for it. Neither this policy nor an agent listing guarantees a safe harbor for operator-authored or other material.
19. External Links and Third-Party Content
This Site may contain links to third-party websites, services, or resources (for example, Google's ad-settings tools, image sources, or reference sites). These links are provided for convenience only. WordCombi does not control and is not responsible for the content, accuracy, privacy practices, or availability of any third-party site, and does not endorse and is not affiliated with any third-party site. Your use of any third-party site is governed by that site's own terms and privacy policy and is at your own risk. WordCombi disclaims all liability for any damage or loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, any third-party site or content.
20. Disclaimer of Warranties (AS IS)
The Site and all content, tools, and results are provided to you strictly "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE," without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, WordCombi, its owner, and operators disclaim all implied warranties, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. WordCombi does not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any defect will be corrected, or that results will be complete, accurate, or valid for any purpose. You use the Site and rely on any result entirely at your own risk. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain implied warranties, so the foregoing exclusions may not apply to you to the extent prohibited by law; in that case, such warranties are limited to the minimum duration and scope required by applicable law.
21. Term and Termination
You may stop using the Site at any time, for any reason. We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access for lawful operational or security reasons, or for a material breach of these Terms, subject to mandatory law. We provide notice where required; urgent security measures may be taken without advance notice. Upon termination, all provisions that by their nature should survive — including Sections 2, 3, 5, 11, 12, 14, 15, 17, 19, and 20 — shall remain in effect. Termination does not relieve you of any obligation that arose before termination.
22. Force Majeure and Waiver
WordCombi shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform resulting from causes beyond its reasonable control, including acts of God, internet or hosting outages, failures of third-party services (such as ad networks or infrastructure providers), labor disputes, governmental actions, or other circumstances beyond its control. No waiver by WordCombi of any breach or default shall be deemed a waiver of any later breach or default, and no failure to enforce any provision at any time shall be construed as a continuing waiver of that provision.
23. Your Mandatory Consumer Rights
All disclaimers, liability limits, class-action waivers, indemnities, dispute provisions, suspension rights, and other restrictions are subject to mandatory law. Nothing excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable rules on fraud, intentional wrongdoing, gross negligence, and death or personal injury caused by negligence. Consumers retain any non-waivable right to their local courts and remedies. The Privacy Policy controls descriptions of data processing; the Terms control contractual provisions, subject always to mandatory law.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, limits, or waives any right you have under mandatory consumer-protection law in the country where you live. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of residence, including your right to bring proceedings in your local courts and your statutory rights regarding unfair contract terms. If any provision of these Terms — including the arbitration agreement, the class-action waiver, the limitation of liability, or the choice of Iowa law — is unenforceable against you under those mandatory rules, that provision does not apply to you to that extent, and the rest of these Terms remain in force. Section 13 (Severability) applies with the same effect.
Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms or any rights under them without our written consent. We may assign these Terms, and any rights and obligations under them, to an affiliate or to a successor in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets, provided the successor agrees to honor the commitments made in these Terms and in our Privacy Policy. If we transfer the Site, any correspondence we still hold transfers with it under the same retention limits described in the Privacy Policy, and we will post notice of the transfer on the Site.
